Do you want to get started with Php, test drive scripts locally or set up a web server of your own? Then I can sincerely recommend phpdev.
Phpdev is nothing more than a collection of several common tools like Apache, Php and MySQL BUT with the exception that they are all preconfigured to work together out-of-the-box on any win32 machine. So simple and yet so complicated. I must admit that the last time I tried doing this on my own I screwed up terribly. Not that I really put my heart into it but this saves a bundle of your valuable time so that you can waste it elsewhere.
