Battleangel

Nothing much but I’ve decided to forward to battleangel.host.sk instead of placing the link inside of a frame. The main URL is still battleangel.org, which I have no intention of releasing. The reason for this is that ‘favicons’ can’t be used via this type of frame. Big deal? Perhaps. Looks much better now anyway that the site has got a custom designed icon. Add it to your favorites and see for yourself.
Too bad I don’t have a real webhost though so that I could point the domain to a dns server. I’ll agree that the current solution is a bit unprofessional but nevertheless, host.sk has been a great free host thus far. There is probably no other host like them on the entire net. It’s sad to see them smothered by constant complaints from ungraitful users and porn/warez site abusers.

And about the favicon concept. I still don’t know if any other brower than IE5+ supports them to the full extent. Netscape has been very reluctant to add support for them and I don’t know where Opera stands on this issue. Anyway …
The main problem with favicons is that they disappear when the temporary internet folder is emptied (fundamentally stupid idea of MS bu thanks for the favicon though). I use FavOrg to remedy this. It parses the favorite folder and relinks, checks and fetches new favicons (as well as the URLs themselves). Fixes links, fixes icons .. simple.
