Movie reviewers (nitpicking)

Gotta love nitpicking reviewers. Some time ago I brought up Mr. Cranky. His review on Attack of the Clones for example goes something like this:
” Natalie Portman plays her half of this love connection like a lithium patient who’s wandered onto the set of “Elimidate.” Such mastery of the art of staring straight ahead hasn’t been seen since Cindy Crawford in “Fair Game.” Hayden Christensen isn’t much better. The only reason you know these characters aren’t computer-generated is that they don’t have the expressiveness or range Lucas affords his digital creations. “
.. and ..
” I read in the Time magazine advertorial for this movie that it came as a complete surprise to George Lucas that theatergoers found Jar Jar Binks to be the most annoying thing since fiberglass enemas. Exactly how often does Lucas venture beyond the borders of Skywalker Ranch? And when was the last time anyone said “no” to George Lucas? 1976? “
” Unfortunately, nobody wants to tell George that his skills as a screenwriter rival Anna Nicole Smith’s. “

Now it’s time for another gem: Cynicscorner. This guy is determined to analyze every flaw in sci-fi tv series like Voyager, Enterprise, Andromeda and Babylon5. As you can imagine there are a lot of them (the flaws). Another one that doesn’t like the Voyager shuttle count it seems :)

And on top of that, there are the golden oldies of nitpicking like Bad Astronomy(which also takes a whack at Attack of the Clones) and Nitpicker Central where the credibility of a movie/series is put to the test. Try them out, feel the dark side of the criticism.
