Secure PHP - not at the moment anyway

One of the many pitfalls of the internet world is Php. To make a long story short it lacks certain security features to safely run in a multiuser environment (such as from a hosting company or ISP). Now, how do you keep Php (which is the best scripting language, no doubt about that) without leaving yourself vulnerable to hacker attacks? Simple, you hack it yourself and invent a crippled mode for maximum security!
Many ISPs and free hosts (such as host.sk) have thus reverted to the “Safe mode” hack. That means that the number of available scripts are decimated by a factor ten or so.
There are only two things that can remedy this situation. Apache 2 (still in dev. beta more or less, no ISP in the world would use it and the new features take a while to master) xor Php 5 (even though I haven’t seen a date nor a feature list yet). Both would be nice but one should be sufficient. If you know what you are doing of course.

Yeah, this is the complaint of the day I suppose. It’s nagging me that I can’t get many of my favorite scripts to work here at host.sk. It would be incredibly cool to have a gallery script running for example but it just isn’t possible. Not yet anyway. WE WANT APACHE 2 NOW! “Safe mode” is like reading the manual before installing hardware or planning your own funeral. Chickens …
