Well. Time to show some results then and prove that it isn’t all just talk. The backplate with a custom fan guard that I wont use anyway but was fun to design:

I just have to nudge the items a bit to make it work with the config. Still haven’t figured out the best way to fold/assemble the box. Damn, I should have made a cube instead As you can see the height is now 160mm. Hehe. Well, I forgot to take into account the thickness of the sonic wave dampening foam which is about 10mm not including the tar mat. The damned thing is that I will have to flex certain plates. And I am seriously considering going from 3 mm to 2 mm steel. Another thing I checked today is the plasma stream width - it is about 1 mm at the intensity I will be using. Yeah, I know it is a bit clumsy but what can I do about it …

The image speaks for itself I think. Why obstruct the airflow? Only a fool would put a finger in there anyway.
