Muffin sunday

As I am sure not many of you realize, aside from coding html and designing steel desktop cases I also have an aspiring pastime of baking muffins. Yes, really.

What could possibly beat english raspberry muffins served with berry-flavoured green tea. And perhaps a spoonful of Bavarian cream on the side.

I have to say one thing about muffins though. If you are into muffins you should really get one of those non-stick pans/molds that are widely available today. It is really so much more fun, especially if your are going to make “american muffins”.

No news from the western front however. The MediaBox is getting nowhere. The company that will most likely be responsible for all the cutting and bending (lets not get into details here, everything will be revealed on the MediaBOX page, all in good time) have requested that I pay them a visit to discuss the final details of the job. Specifically it is the top screws which are a bit tricky. And contrary to what I stated here earlier, the work will not be done using either plasma or laser, but rather high pressure water. And, no, for the sake of simplicity this box is welding-free. I estimate that it can all be completed in three weeks time if I am lucky. Of course all the peripherals might not be in place by then ..

Peripheral news: I have been in contact with an individual who is willing to sell me his Pioneer 6x/32x slot-in player. This addition of a slot-in player is a crucial step in the MediaBOX project. And old slot-in players aren’t that easy to get your hands on. Again, supply and demand.

At first I didn’t think of this possibility and rather wanted to use my tray loading Hitachi 8x/40x drive. I suppose it’s a good think the project has exceeded the time frame. Otherwise I had probably not come up with so many of the last minute nifty details. Since I don’t have a private brain trust scheming in the basement, it is basically just me calling the shots around here. No one else has contributed in any significant way to the project — and that is a bad thing I think.
