The demo of Unreal Tournament 2003 is out. The final game is probably not more than a few weeks away. From what I gathered over at the isonews forum, people were not that impressed. I haven’t had the opportunity to try it yet but a recurring comparison was that of Quake 3. And no one likes Quake 3, right? Also, many felt that the gameplay was way too fast .. again much like Quake 3. You have all these great gfx effects but no time to appreceite them …
What we should remember is that the demo is 100MB in size. The final game will span at least two full CDs I guess. And wouldn’t we be rather disappointed also if the game was just a remake of UT. I am sure people will Mod out the stuff they don’t like before you can say “lightning gun”.
I must remember to check out Neocron as well when it is available (already? .. well not on isonews anyway). Interesting idea even if it is a MMORPG.
“Neocron is the world’s first and only MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game) that brings you a dense Cyberpunk atmosphere. It is also the first MMORPG that looks, feels and is almost as easy to play as a 3D first person shooter.”
Of course being a designed for online play this poses a problem. Especially since it is a subscription service (and an expensive one at that). I would never accept anything like this. I would however consider buying the game if online play was free. As it stands today the manufacturers of subscription based online games wont get a penny from me. Warez rules … suckers.
I wonder what happened to Gundam Online btw?
Feeling Lame? I certainly do. I have been using the –r3mix setting for ages now. It was only today that I realized it would be a good idea to switch to the more logical –alt-preset standard. The Audio page (under Media) has also been updated with a couple of albums. Freeloading rules as well.
