Adventurer Göran Kropp Dies in Climbing Accident.
Goran Kropp, my hero, has passed away in my presence on Monday September 30th, 2002 around 14:40. It was a sad day for humanity. We lost an exemplary human being who had impacted the lives of many of us.

The light that burns twice as bright is more likely to illuminate more lives. Göran did just that.
He was sponsoring a school in Nepal: the Göran Kropp Bishwa Darshan Primary School. We are now aiming to sure that this school is in good shape through our non-profit organization Around-n-Over.
A human powered journey to circumnavigate the world is in progress as we speak called "Six Summits Project." It includes climbing the highest summits on six continents that would be touched during the circumnavigation. Upon landfall, the approach to these summits will be a la Göran Kropp, by towing all the climbing gear on a bicycle.
The main goal of the non-profit is to put this journey into classrooms through lesson plans, emails and regular updates on our web site. We will showcase technology and virtual education as can be managed on such a journey.

Good luck with the preparations for your next leg in the summits project. I really wish I could be there with you. Pushing the limits and inspiring people.
The entire project is mindboggling. Go for it!
One more thing, it would be great if the around-and-over website had some sort of weblog that could be updated as time went by on the road and at sea (ok, maybe not at sea). And / or some sort of geo-coded imaging device:

Or perhaps some sort of GPS tracking thingy that could plot your position on a map as you go. At least roughly. That would be really nice. As for specific technical solutions I’m not sure but it should be feasible.
We are considering a tracking device to be installed on the boat. There are such devices that ping with the GPS coordinate of the boat on a preset interval via a satellite connection. This is also important for retrieving the boat in case I have to abandon it for some reason.
On land, I probably will be posting my GPS coordinates as I go via satellite phone.
