I hate that part of life. But I also hate the disorder that comes from not planning ahead.
The ticket sale for Lord Of The Rings : The Two Towers opens next Monday (18th Nov). I better be there in one form or another. I don’t really get people who camp outside the theater for an entire week prior to the ticket release. Conformity, that is all I am going to say. They just don’t know when to stop. Once, people would stand in line hours before a release. Later they would sleep over in front of the theater. Then someone wanted to beat these guys and arrived two days early .. and on this path there is no going back.
I am going to do what I always do anyway. Just show up late on the 18th or on the 19th and get just as good a seat as anyone who has been sitting in a snowbank for the last week. And why? Because I still cherish the soul of cinema. I’m not there to socialize with friends or eat popcorn. No, I am there to see a great movie. And I have carefully studied the theater complex in order to find the best seat available. And besides, I do this alone. It’s like a game of Tetris really, the one-block-piece will fit much better than the three-block-piece. Plus, you will have a much clearer conscience when you tell your neighbours you will rip them apart if they don’t stop talking during the movie.
And furthermore while on the subject of movies, I might actually have to go and see that awful Bond movie. There just aren’t enough movies left this year for me to use up the prepaid tickets that I have left. It is really pissing me off that neither Solaris nor Star Trek : Nemsis will be appearing in Sweden this year.
And soon it is time for a little xmas anxiety as well. What kind of xmas presents do people want anyway? And what is feasible to acquire? I am so ambivalent that I can’t even buy gifts for myself, let alone anyone else. And I am not a mind reader so it is hard to imagine what anyone else wants. Besides, my empathic abilities are a bit untrained. I just keep seeing what *I* would want someone to give to *me*. Sadly, most other people don’t think like me
Another riddle is the new gfx card I must acquire in order to free the G400 for the HTPC/MediaBOX. It’s soon xmas and I still haven’t seen a final version of DX9 nor any NV30 products from nVidia. So, basically it’s either the Ti200 or Ti4200 for now. The ATi DX9 solution is too expensive for my liking and no other DX9 solutions exist when writing this. Other elusive products include the Remote Wonder, ANY RF keyboard and the 2GHz Celeron processor. What is the world coming to?
In short I still lack tons of components for the MediaBOX, most of which have not been through extensive review. I’m making educated guesses here and even an educated guess is only an approximate of the truth.
