LifestreamSource: IBM Hard drive drive support
The IBM Warranty and Returns site will no longer be available as of 5 p.m. PST (8 p.m. EST) on 31-December 2002. On 1-January, 2003, IBM will transfer all support for Hard Disk Drives to Hitachi Global Storage Technologies, Inc. On January 6th, 2003, customers can continue RMA service via the Hitachi End User RMA site, located at http://www.hgst.com/warranty.
I guess that means that my warranty return will be delayed even further. I think they should have maybe mentioned this earlier as a possible explaination for not being able to ship and replacement drive during Decemeber. And where is the Hitachi End User support unit located, physically? Taiwan? US? On-board the ISS? Lets just hope that I never have to return any more IBM drives as long as I live.
