Arthur C. Clarke movies on the way.

- RENDEZVOUS WITH RAMA (2004). Directed by David Fincher. Rumour has it that Morgan Freeman is involved with the project but as far as casting and an actual release date, little is known.

RAMA is on my top-ten-list of great movies that have never been made. Imho it has a lot of potential, even if I recall the books (there are four in the RAMA series actually) as eerie, strange and sometimes controversial. And lets not forget that Fincher already played around end ruined Alien3, even if I must admit that I am pleased with his other movies. Since RAMA is as much a journey through the human mind as it is a glimpse into a frightening alien world, and Fincher seems to work well with psycho-stories like Se7en and Fight Club, he will probably work well with this as well. The question is if people will get the idea and if the production team dares to be true to the original story?
Take “2001” for example. No one liked the movie when it was released (at least not the critics) and it took maybe five or ten years before people realized the greatness of the production. From a dramaturgical point of view, RAMA is not so much different from “2001:A space Odyssey”.

- CHILDHOOD’S END (?). Nothing yet, but ACC has indicated that Universal/Beacon have optioned the story.
