A replacement unit was delivered by UPS a few minutes ago. The IBM logistics system must have been down and out for the last week since it didn’t indicate any progress. Ironically, this is EXACTLY one month after I returned the damaged unit. That also means that IBM missed the preferred handling time by 14 days. Oh well.

The replacement unit btw was a 60GB IC35L060AVV207-0 (or more commonly 180GXP) manufactured in November of 2002. This one carries a warranty of just one year I suppose. I better check that out just to be sure. It’s nice to see that IBM ships brand new and state of the art replacement hard drives at least.
