Top Twenty Cryptozoology Stories of 2002

The Top Twenty Cryptozoology Stories of 2002 I was just waiting for this one. Nessie made it to the list (again) despite dwindling interest over the last year. Also, the number of verified hoaxes remains unchanged. The trend is certainly leaning towards felines and lost hominids. I.e. Black cats and Bigfoot sighting still dominate the scene. It’s like the way Hollywood always is returning to it’s horror roots with classics like Dracula, Wolfman and Frankenstein I suppose. A catchy idea is hard to get rid of.
Even though Bigfoot sightings do get the most press, I would like to point out that cryptozoology is not a science of hoaxers. And I’m not saying that all Bigfoot sightings are hoaxes either. What I’m saying is that it’s implausible .. and that cryptozoology did in fact rediscover both the Andean Parrot and Angola’s Giant Black Sable during 2002 as well continue to lobby research the Coelacanths (lobefin).
