There has been talk off and on about this for a while now. If you’re handy with a soldering iron (sadly I am not) I am sure you can make a wonderful deal. And void your warranty at the same time.
Anyway. I saw this post over at the Guru3d forums. Apparently, the upcoming RC of RivaTuner v2.0 will contain code that can SOFTWARE modify your Radeon 9500 to do the same as the HARDWARE mod that everyone has been talking about. No voided warranty and no hassle.
Too good to be true? Well, maybe. And by the time we know for sure, the 9500 will be sold out .. or remade on the actual 9500 pcb. Either way you take a chance of being disappointed. I’m gonna have to wait a couple of days to see if this turns out to be vaporware or not. I’m not in such a hurry anyway.

Edit: I have placed an order for the Sapphire Atlantis 9500 128MB card at Itbutikken.dk. I also included the Remote Wonder and this item takes at least one week before it is in stock. This gives a pre-order of the 9500 and time to follow the thread at Guru3d and evaluate the decision.
