Anyone else getting fed up with their subscription service? I think it’s a disgrace to the entire idea of the internet to have this sorry excuse for a file distribution network running. Many internet web sites use Fileplanet to propagate their downloads but they obviously do not care whether or not the visitors can actually get the files. Because hey, if it’s full, you can always get a subscription!
I have never in my life been able to download anything from any of the free Fileplanet servers. And when I see stuff like brand new game demos being released exclusively through Fileplanet (payed subscription only of course) I feel it has gone too far. This is not what we want for the internet. The entire idea of the internet is that it should operate outside of society and the (economic) limitations enforced by the very same.

I notice many web services turn into loathsome pay sites these days. Obviously some people just realized they can actually make money off the internet. Probably the same people who oppose freedom of information. It is exactly those people we do not want around.
There is no telling how far this trend will take us. I just know that I do not like it. I think it’s time we boycott this service and convince the major networks to do the same.
