Here is finally the Worst of 2002 Poll. The people seem unanimous. Everyone hates Britney Spears and her dopey movie. Most also agree that there was something very wrong with Attack of the Clones even if no one seems to know who or what to blame. Some even seem to think it’s the movie poster that wrecked it all.
It’s also noteworthy that Jennifer Lopez is on the Worst Actress list TWICE. And she deserves it. The only thing that really surprises me is that Austin Powers hasn’t got more votes and nominations. Maybe people are embarrassed even to admit they actually saw it.
Personally, my darkest hour and greatest humiliation of last year is still Star Wars: Episode II though. But I had to, even after the fiasco with Episode I. “It’s my destiny” to see crappy Star Wars movies as long as they are produced. The other Worst Picture nominees were thankfully spotted and killed off in infancy.

They also have a Best of 2002 Poll up if that kind of thing gets you off. The Two Towers seems to be dominating most of the genres anyway. It isn’t bad .. just very predictable. Look at Best Documentary and Best Animated Feature btw. Maybe it’s time we let IMDB voting decide the outcome of the Oscars?
