Freelancer, take 3

Well. It was fun while it lasted. The single player campaign left me strangely empty and bewildered. I mean, there you are, back in the Liberty system with a level of 38 and nothing has changed. You have a bigger ship, more powerful weapons but no new options in life if you know what I’m saying. What is the motivation to keep going? An even bigger ship with more frills even though all opponents drop like flies already? It’s kind of like the real world in that aspect .. it’s not until you achieve something that you realize how futile the struggle has been and that you were probably just as happy to begin with.
The game is too repetetive and ordered for my liking. Sure, if they had added more detail it could have ended up as another pipe dream or Battle Cruiser but this is a bit rediculous. After a while you’ve seen it all. All the jobs that you can do for various organizations become tedious and predictable. ZZZzzz. Call me when someone releases a game that combines Freelancer with Battle Cruiser Millennium and Unreal 2 or something. You know, freedom is a funny thing .. once you’ve acquired a taste for it, you just want more.
