Yeah, I’m really saving electrons today, hence the micro review. Why bother ranting about it when you really only have one thing to say: Get the remastered DVD asap! I did and to me this represents one of the best horror movies of all time. It’s worth at least five teen slasher scream movies. Maybe even six.

And while on the subject of old John Carpenter movies I would like to express my disgust over how crappy many of the DVD releases have been. It’s not his fault of course but rather the studios. For example, neither Escape from New York nor The Thing passes any kind of quality standards. At least not with me. Would it really kill these people to release anamorphic DVDs and possibly add a remixed DD audio track?
