While looking thru the new and upcoming releases I came upon a couple of nuggets that I really must recommend. I will try to get these as soon as circumstances allow.
A Fish Called Wanda: Special Edition (2 Disc Set) R2
Release: Friday 11 Apr
Changes: 1.85:1 anamorphic PAL + English Dolby Digital 5.1
Spirited Away: Special Collector’s Edition (2 Disc Set) R1
Release: Tuesday 15 Apr
Changes: More or less the same as R2CE but without the “red tint”!
Samurai X: Reflection R1
Release: Thursday 27 Mar
Changes: See preview and ADV Films.
I must admit that this Rurouni Kenshin OAV stuff is getting confusing. I KNOW I have seen this one though and it IS actually good. It is THE end to the Rurouni Kenshin saga.
It’s too bad the first two OAVs are 1.33:1 and the movie is non-anamorphic 1.85:1. This release on the other hand should be 1.78:1 anamorphic ws. I just wish they would make up their mind … No one should be without Rurouni Kenshin. It’s a goddamn human rights issue. Get it now (but please begin from scratch)!
