Phew! Almost everything turned out according to expectation. Spirited away won BEST ANIMATED FEATURE FILM and Bowling for Columbine grabbed BEST DOCUMENTARY FEATURE. I have nothing to object. Michael Moore’s acceptance speech was short and hilarious and at the same time very accurate. What he said took a lot of courage.

What about The Pianist? Roman Polanski was a no show of course. And the movie wont show up here in Sweden for at least a couple of months. But it’s nice to see that the jury is open minded and dares to venture beyond the walls of Hollywood. Say what you will of the winners but this year quality won over popularity and shallowness.
