Not bad for a monday. There are a couple of scoops over at BluesNews that will keep us hardcore gamers on our toes for the near future.
First of all there is a preview of HALO (PC) over at GameSpy. There is also a multiplayer preview.
God, I’m looking forward to this game. Especially since Planetside (for tons of reasons) wasn’t my cup of tea. I find it interesting that HALO has been out for YEARS. Just now (or Aug / Sep to be precise) they release it for the PC and it is sure to be a smash hit. Probably among the Top 10 PC games ever released. How is that possible? Why hasn’t anyone already filled the “HALO niche” on the PC? This will be reason enough to put yourself through the agony of life for another year.
And there are some DOOM III benchmarks up at HardOCP. They do not speak a single word about the game content but rather provide clues as to how well current generation hardware will cope with the DOOM III.
Suffice to say this game is a different ball game compared to what we see today. I can pretty much forget playing the game above 1280×1024. At least if AA/AF is desired. It seems like NVIDIA is trying to pull a rabbit out of the hat again. “The way it was meant to be played” .. yeah right. Leafblower ….
