With S.N.P. Dashboard and Y’z Toolbar / Shadow / Dock. Highly recommended if you’ve got some cpu cycles to spare. Dashboard is especially interesting since it mimics the appearance of the side bar in Windows Longhorn.
Both Y’z Dock and Dashboard take a stab at bringing information and interactivity closer to the user. Of course with some extraordinary eye-candy .. but that is what ppl are expecting these days.

A slight reminder for future Dashboard users, it needs Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1. After all, a 23 MB download. Take it or leave it.
