BREED Beta Demo

Played around a bit with BREED. Not too shabby actually. But it will be up against some pretty stiff competition (Halo and HL2) unless they release it soon.
The game has plenty of vehicles, quick action, cool weapons and most structures can be deformed given enough firepower. Mowing down trees with a chaingun just makes my […]

Uber-Soldier Needs Much Debugging

Wired: Uber-Soldier Needs Much Debugging

CAMBRIDGE, Massachusetts — Thanks to their sleek, form-fitting battle suits, ordinary soldiers may someday turn into supermen.
Bullets won’t stop them; neither will chemical attacks. Their nanotech-made muscles might let them jump higher and kick more butt than their opponents. And if they do somehow get hurt, the suit could immediately […]

Matrix : Reloaded

Quite a pleasant surprise. Especially since everybody has been dissing it for the last couple of weeks. I mean, come on, what do you ppl want? The first movies all over again?
This IS the natural continuation of the first movie. Things couldn’t have been much different. Reviewers who are crying over what “could have been” […]

More SARS speculation

- UK scientist says SARS from space
- SARS Virus Likely Came from Civet Cats
It’s funny you know. I just saw the Andromeda Strain the other day. Brilliant movie btw. And very much related to this. While the space theory is too far fetched for most, it is not entirely unlikely. In recent years we have […]

Annika Sörenstam

Seems to be going quite well for Annika on the PGA. At least better than most would have anticipated. Normally I don’t pay any attention to golf, whether male or female. But this turn of events has actually forced me to look up the sport section. And I really hate sport normally.
It’s always entertaining to […]

Eurovision 2003, take 2

Hmm. I’ve been listening to all 26 songs and as usual there is a mixed bag of music. One contribution that caught my attention for BEING REALLY SILLY was Austria’s Alf Poier “Weil Der Mench Zählt”. Reminded my of the kind of stuff Finland always sends. Finland of course didn’t qualify this time because of […]

NVIDIA nForce2 Unified Drivers 2.41 WHQL

Didn’t fix the audio crackling however. Damn.
On the bright side, most of the gaming problems that I experienced when running Win2k are now gone. Again, too bad I didn’t do this two weeks ago before installing Planetside.
Oh, and I almost forgot. Here is the Sony press release from yesterday announcing the launch of Planetside. The […]

XP install

Installed XP on main setup. After the Planetside incident I couldn’t take it any longer. Not that it matters now because my PS account has been scrapped.
Hope this works out better. I have tons of applications to install now. Damn. God damn boring. Hopefully back in 24h.

Bye Bye Planetside?

Sorry for being a bit hasty last week. The beta didn’t expire. Not until today. So, I had time to play around with it some more. Here is a bit of info that I dug up on the gaming situation and that might be the cause of my problems:
Rage3D: DON’T use Win2K as a gaming […]

CDisplay Comic Reader

Hehe. I finally figured out how to open those pesky .cbz and .cbr files (without renaming them and unpacking them manually that is). The answer is CDisplay Comic Reader.
I couldn’t understand why ppl insisted on distributing comic scans in the above formats. Now it kind of makes some sense. At least when you’ve got like […]
