Slashdot: DMCA-Alikes Sweep Europe

Germany just became the fifth country (the other being Austria, Denmark, Greece and Italy) to adopt the EUCD legislation. Crap. It’s only a matter of time before this hideous fascist regime takes over good old liberal Sweden as well. The problem with this type of event is that it kinda sneaks up on you. All of a sudden there has been a vote in the parliament and then it’s all over.

You can be sure that the senile people in whatever committee that is investigating the implementation have no clue to what they are doing. After all they’re politicians right. “Seems like a good idea” .. “I never download anything off the internet” .. “Hell, I don’t even know how to work a computer” .. “Come to think of it I only listen to public radio” …

Too bad if you believed in democracy.
