ROTFL! Just when you thought that the US had run out of improbable events to engineer. This is just too much. I mean even if the story is true and Qusay and Uday happen to be dead the way this operation was carried out can only be described as an atrocious failure.
There are just too many fishy details with this story. Why is the US stalling to release (any) evidence (of anything really)? Are they just busy photoshop editing dental scans? And will there be a PS contest on FARK? Why was the operation carried out in a Rambo style fashion instead of at least trying to keep things professional? Why did US troops open fire first but in retrospect blame the other side? Why would both brothers stay at the same place and for 23 days, especially since the same american intelligence claims that they couldn’t stand each other? Why does it coincide so well with the Lynch story? Is the US command mad enough to play with a story like this after so many setbacks? Assuming that it is true, is this a victory of any kind, will it actually do jack shit for people who are without food or water? When did it become ok to gun down children (Qusay’s 14 year old son) to accomplish an objective?
All in all I feel that this campaign has damaged the US tremendously. Time will tell exactly how high the cost will be but I for one will always be suspicious of american strategy, american media and even american citizens. In other words bad PR. While this was no way close to the defeat in numbers that we saw in Vietnam it did shame the american image in much the same way. Winning or loosing on the battlefield is of little importance in this case. I must assume that there are millions like me all over the world. This circular prophecy could be your undoing. And for what? What has THE US gained?
