Mohammed al-Sahhaf blast from the past

Somewhat old news by now but it’s hard to keep up when you occupied elsewhere. Anyway, as most people know, Sahhaf was Iraq’s ambassador to Sweden in the 80s. Now he is wanted for questioning regarding two accounts of assassination of exile Iraqis that took place in 1985. And who else would bring this up but Kurdo Baksi. The police has opened up the investigation after all those years and for no reason at all.

The same Kurdo Baksi has recently implied that Sahhaf might have orchestrated the assassination of Olof Palme in 1986. In that case he did us a great favor but this wet kurdish conspiracy dream lacks any logic whatsoever.

I suppose simple people need simple explanation. They would like to think that there is such a thing as evil and that this is a character trait rather than a situational component. It’s something like a defensive attribution. By associating other people with bad things you put your mind to rest. You trick yourself to think that bad things are carried out and happen to bad people. Thus it is something that you believe wont affect you in any way. The mind is engineered to protect itself of unnecessary trauma any way that it can.
