Should be out. Or so I’ve been told. 5 CDs. Check NFOrce. I really wish they would ship it on DVD instead .. but anyway … The two major problems with this release as I see it are:

- Just too goddamn expensive. Especially for a multi user environments.

- Not enough new features to make ppl interested.

In fact, more and more people are leaving MS Office in favor of the SUN Star Office suite. I know for a fact that the local university will do so shortly. And so will the local hospital. Hundreds and yet hundreds of licences lost because of the stubborn pricing. And I’m not one of those rabid antitrust morons. I have no interest in MS losing customers. But this time they have put many in an awkward situation. I imagine the same thing is happening all over the world right now.

Btw. One major beef that I have with Star Office is that SUN removed all downloads from their server since v5.2. Apparently SUN made the stupid decision to licence technologies themselves and thus had to make people pay. That was not a good sign if you ask me. I’ve read all their excuses of course but I don’t buy them. I suggest you try out Star Office … from your local warez source. Ahhh, the irony …
