BBC: Sweden says No to euro

That pretty much sums it up. The turnout was around 80% which is quite remarkable even for Sweden. Personally I belong to the 20% of lazy bums who didn’t bother to get their asses to the polls or even send one by mail. Kind of a dozy subject if you ask me. There are probably just as many disadvantages connected with adopting the euro as there are possible advantages. Everything in life is like a very sharp sword .. and it swings both ways.
Still, had I bothered, I would have been in favor of this endeavor. This is the first attempt at dethroning the USA that stands a chance to succeed. And who wouldn’t want that. Luckily it doesn’t really matter what 9 million Swedes think. The rest of Europe can fight this battle anyway. Hmmmm. We might be able to play both sides and reap the benefits. Wouldn’t be the first time either.
