Amazing. I actually forgot about this guy, rotting away in Berg (Vesfold) prison since 1994. Seems he was recently moved to Tönsberg and thus allowed periodical leave of absence.
The first thing he does is try to escape (or so it seems) in an incredibly lame way. He was caught yesterday driving south towards Oslo.

Pretty predictable or what? Personally I think it was a PR stunt on his part. And it obviously worked since I’m sitting here remembering .. and writing this …

I’ve never been a fan of either his music (Burzum) nor bought into his ideals to the full extent. But I do find him intriguing and his texts do contain some things that I can relate to. Sadness, alienation and hatred mostly. Even if we do not direct it in exactly the same way.
Unfortunately I can’t recommend a good website if you want to find more information on this phenomenon. The years have turned and Christian Vikernes has himself become a part of history. He is out of fashion and certain parties have gone out of their way to remove certain sites. All that exists nowadays are bleak copies, hearsay and rumours.

It is also interesting to note how easy ppl buy into this crap. To some “Varg” is a hero of the black metal scene. An outcast and a crusader against society. Media crowns him as the leader of the Norwegian satanist community. Most people have no clue. Is he a heathenist? A satanist? A right wing extremist? Don’t believe everything that you read.
Strange. Even I am doing him a disservice by using the image above. When people see it it will certainly activate schemes that inspire loathing and fear. The challenge here is to try and look beyond the facts society has filled you with.
I’m not saying that everything that you read in the media is false (there is always a grain of truth in there). Just that the motives and circumstances have been twisted to fit in better with common belief. It is at times like this that you become very afraid indeed. Afraid of the utter crap that is being forced down our throats by the media. It is not often that you have any background information on the headline news and when you do, the lies become very apparent.
