Oh boy. Oh boy. Read all about in the official Lite-ON DVDR thread over at the Atomic Forums. There is both an official (FS07, 2003/10/15 20:54) and an un-official (FS0B, 2003/10/27 21:10) version.
There is also a link to CDFreaks that has the official (FS07) firmware in bin format for LTNFlash.

The media codes don’t indicate that much have changed though. I’m sceptical and also I have no idea if flashing these new firmwares will be just as easy as before (using the 401S).

Update: Hmm. Reports from around the web claims that the FS07 firmware has indeed improved results for the dreaded Princo brand and also some RitekG04 discs that didn’t burn that well before. Some ppl have been arguing fiercely not to use the unofficial firmware. Not that this is an option anyway at the moment since I haven’t been able to find it in bin format. Ah, what a mess. I don’t have any discs left to try anyway so I’ll give it a rest. The next batch will be Ritek DVD+R 4x unbranded. I was a bit desperate …
