Big ass flimsy update

The butt-ugly exam :: Yeah. Almost done now. What a complete waste of time. Exams are one thing but I hate when they come in the shape of a trojan horse.

Server move and cleanup :: I must say the were actually very few real problems. Most were due to my own negligence to document my work. I have compiled a little checklist of things that still have to be carried out:

- Software list that is brought back up to date.
- New or reworked favicon that you can actually make out.
- Info page that actually contains useful information.
- Gallery script resurrected (and 200MB of disk quota to waste). Coppermine.
- Get gallery integrated in the design as a random image or last uploaded.
- Get listed in the DMOZ (weblogs:personal:b). Failed the last time.
- Consider breaking the shoutbox and forum code free of iframes.
- Fix and complete the phpmp3 script.
- Fix the forum. Broken hacks and bad template.
- Fix the poll. Seems like there is a display problem?
- The dvd/movie list …
- Get the Webalizer stats public. Maybe a cron job?
… plus tons of other stuff I am sure …

Compulsive walks :: .. are back again. I was standing on the brink of the abyss choosing between feverish marches and strapping on the old jogging shoes. The problem with me is really inconsistency. I’m so bored with either. Or maybe I’m just bored with the surroundings. The activities themselves are not reason enough.

Matrix Revolutions :: Have you reserved seats yet? I have not. But I will do it first thing tomorrow. Just as long as I’m able to beat the casual moviegoers. Even though it was only a couple of months since Reloaded I feel this craving for more Matrix. Maybe also because M2 ended with such a lame “to be continued” truism.
I must say I was impressed with the soundtrack. Grand. Symphonic. Drawing on Carmina Burana (Orff) and Requiem (Mozart). A bit cliche. But very dazzling. I hope the movie is as colorful.

Fancy text :: I have updated the plugin, the complete list of smileys is now:
    :upset:    :) :( :D ;) ;-) 8O :?   :| :xmas: :king: :headset: :martial: :upyours: :skull:  :pig: :bunny: :cens:  :dead: :scrath:  :cop: :phone: :blah:
:sword: :sstupid: :sxmas:
I’m fairly certain most of them will never see the light of day. But hey, they are so cool. It’s pretty obvious how bored I am, isn’t it?

New games :: Call of Duty and Worms 3D. Also Silent Hill 3 was released for PC. Haven’t been able to get Worms 3D to work though. Visual C++ crap. And the Team17 forum is broken.

Lite-ON 401@411 :: Flashed the FS07 firmware. Seems to be working. Only I am out of discs. Should have a 20p of Ritek DVD+R 4x any day now. I’m not taking any chances this time. The conclusions from the media tests I did were limited. The discs that actually worked were to expensive and the most promising disc didn’t even work. I need more time.

Cell phone :: Yeah right … Still looking for a second hand T310. Had a couple of candidates but all were slightly damaged. Goddamn I’m sick of all these smurf cell phones. But they are all I have to chose from. And how stupid is it not to buy an older model just as a silent protest. Naaa. I will have to face the bitter reality.
Also, I’ve had very little luck researching free and easy methods to remove simlocks and such.
Another thing that bugs is that technology is always so predictable. Must cell phones really go though the same evolutionary steps as the personal computer once did? BW to color, monophonic to polyphonic to dsp etc. Wouldn’t it be nice to just skip ahead once in a while? Especially when we all know the next step.

ICQ spam :: Was obviously a bad idea to post my UIN on this site (among others). Recently I’ve been swamped with illicit users. Ok that was a bad choice of words. But still.
Of course I’m always looking for exciting new people. Emphasis on exciting. Exciting != saying “hi” and falling back into the coma from whence they came. I’m not too talkative either but it takes two to tango.
Spam has increased tremendously too. Fortunately Miranda has an anti-spam plugin these days that removes most of that stuff.
