FS0B has been released as final. No word on any changes. The .bin file is available from liteon401s.front.ru and I just flashed my drive successfully using UPDATE BOOT CODE this time (and for the first time). Still not sure if it matters?

Also, there is a thread at CDFreaks about sending in SmartBurn MIDs to solve media speed recognition problems. Sadly, as the thread states, in order to add support for a new type of disc, a MID is not enough. Lite-ON needs the disc in question.

Also, I’m working on getting more media to try out. Will order from Discatonce.se and see how their DVD-R test pack holds up. I must admit I’m a little frustrated by this entire business. The 20p of Ritek +R 4x was out of stock and thus hasn’t even been shipped yet.
So, essentially I’m out of discs and the HD is filling up fast. And btw, the unit that was RMAed is still a no-show.
