Does anyone care what I have to say about it? Probably not but here we go anyway.
I must say I was a tad disappointed even though I only walked in the cinema with moderate expectations and realizing that the theme of this movie would be different from its two predecessors.
The was just no twist to the story. No surprises and even less of a cerebral workout than Reloaded. The movie just steamed on towards the end, which in my mind was inevitable.
Along the road it pulled of some hysteric action scenes with extremely fast paced cg and a pile of cliches to go with that. I would probably have been more enthusiastic had it not been for the cliches. Mostly in the form of corny lines that could have been fetched from any number of action flicks. That just didn’t go well with the background story somehow.
Too much emotional slapstick or whatever I should call it. This entire “defend Zion crap” became way too sappy for my taste. I suppose the Wachowskis just can’t be trusted with battlefield scenes, which by the way always have a tendency to be made personal and emotional.
Having said that it is still a decent movie. I suppose we all react differently to cliches, so it is very possible that some might actually enjoy it.
