Via SUPRNOVA /// Hmm. Seems there is a demo out for Deus Ex 2 : Invisible War. 224 Mb. FilePlanet “exclusive”. Don’t know much about it except that the “witty” Half Life ppl have been looking forward to it. The first game wasn’t my cup of tea exactly. Too damn sneaky and level loading times were awful. And you had to kill you opponents off with toothpicks or something in order to complete the levels.
Via Warp2Search /// NForce Audio Drivers (XP/2k) v. 3.75. About time. The last driver package I tried worked ok but then Windows Update decided to break them with some WHQL stuff. Great work. These are as for from WHQL as you can possibly get.
It’s been a great week for gamers. Dungeon Siege: Legends of Aranna, Broken Sword 3: Sleeping Dragon, Pro Evolution Soccer 3, Need for Speed Underground, XIII and Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic are all gold and on the street.
I can’t understand the fascination with the NFS series though. I got the game and played it. Lasted for 10 min or something. Incredibly stupid. Not exactly Carmageddon if you know what I mean.
About XIII there was a slight problem with the copy protection. FLTDOX released a crackfix but it seems to lock up after level 12. Sigh. Also note that the damn game is 4 CDs. I’d love to see a working crack any time soon or I’m gonna toss it. Edit: The XIII Proper Crackfix by FLTDOX is out.
Still, this game is probably not recommended. For one it’s BIG (ok worth saying twice), mostly so because it’s multi language. Also, it has some sort of disc swapping system that IS NOT removed by the FLTDOX patch. What it means is that I can’t unpack the discs and put them on a DVDR. I only tried the multiplayer and quite frankly it sucks. LOL. Can’t imagine why they would use the Unreal engine to accomplish something like this.
Unfortunately haven’t had time to try out either BS3 or SW:KOTOR. Not too big on RPGs and adventure games. Also skipped War Of The Ring for that same reason. In retrospect maybe this was a bad choice. Should have stayed away from NFS and XIII instead.
