Q-Tek Desktop ATX Case

It seem my request was heard and now the case is back in stock over at SHG.biz.
As you have probably guessed, there have been some problems with the custom case I made for the HTPC. Most of them due to my own shortsightedness. The main reason for custom designing a case, i.e. to make it fit inside the TV bench, was thwarted by cables and head room. It soon became painfully clear that there was no way I could fit a HTPC, a VCR and a RECEIVER into the bench. Especially since a typical receiver and PC gives off enough heat respectively to kill each other off. Fresh water pirates!
Other than that the single most annoying thing about the case is the internal suspension. Or the lack thereof. I could just as well have tossed the components in a brown paper bag and put that in the TV bench. The front is also quite problematic since the slot-in requires a regular sharpshooter not to scratch the discs when inserting them though the aluminium. And the DVD unit behind the front is held in place by rubber bands so I think you can figure the rest out for yourself.
The question here is why I didn’t buy a cheap desktop case from Q-Tek a year and a half ago. Simply because they weren’t available then. The market for stylish desktop cases has since expanded. That is what you get for always being a little ahead of everyone else I suppose.

The only slight problem here is that other wanted items keep popping in and out of the logistics system. Like the Logitech 4000 webcam for example. Blasted! Better place an order before the case disappears again. If the case is any good I might buy another one just for the server project. Now, stacking a couple of desktop cases would be stylish!

Anyway. Recent events have caused me to rethink the Home Cinema project and reminded me that it is time to move to stage two. There is no escaping the inevitable. Once I started walking this road I should have finished the journey right away.
