Battleangel

Oh jolly, the robot fighting game is back and in 3d this time. Does the old One Must Fall bring back memories or what? Memories of early adolescence and countless hours in front of this game.
Haven’t had time to try out One Must Fall: Battlegrounds yet but I have high hopes. Sort of. I mean piloting giant robots and destroying things always makes my day. There are just too few fighting games on the PC platform so this is a welcome addition regardless if it isn’t game of the year.

I’ll have to get back to this tomorrow … oh boy .. busy day. LOTR and everything.

Edit: I got it up and running. Don’t know what to make of it though. The first thing you notice is how bad the controls are. Maybe if I had a gamepad it would be all different. But having that many keys mapped to a keyboard is just no fun. The mouse seems to be out of the picture entirely.
To tell you the truth I haven’t really gotten beyond this gripe. The gameplay seems like fun but I’d guess the lifespan of the title is limited and in any case it’s not exactly game of the year. Kind of disappointing but hardly a bad game. Just average.
