The aggravation never ends. Always something going on that keeps my blood pressure above normal. Today it is the geometric pattern recognition implemented with Photoshop CS. It took a couple of months to surface but apparently Photoshop refuses to work with reproductions of banknotes (and god knows what else). Read all about it here: ADOBE is big brother NOW, really!
Also verified by yours truly. It just craps out, gives an error image about processing banknote images and gives some stupid explanatory web site: Facts About Using Banknote Images.
As pointed out on the site above. It’s just a second generation watermarking. something that we should expect to see more of in the future. See this file for an explanation as to how it works and also why modern photocopying machines refuse to work with banknotes.
I think Adobe should also expect to see their software reverse-engineered and that many will choose a different software solution where big brother isn’t present.
