About as obvious as the discovery that you can get fat from eating too much fat food. I recall reading the same stuff a year ago but then it was in the “yellow news” section and thus not taken seriously. The question is what the UN will do about it. Slap a few wrists or perhaps send out a few firm memos most likely.

Apart from being arrogant and manipulative, the UK and US also make the UN appear incompetent. Something that the US has gotten away with for decades now. Their plan is ingenious in its simplicity. First you withhold financial support and block every single security counsel resolution that isn’t going their way. And finally, when the organization is paralyzed completely you take every opportunity to complain and show that the UN is unfit to do their job and thus the US has to step in.
It also shows that the US (and allies, whoever they are?) have no respect for the so called democratic principles that they claim to be crusading for. “Dissent is unpatriotic” you know. It shows that the world is more complex than some people would lead you to believe. And that people in power often have the same agenda, no matter what team they are playing for.

Time to decide whether to be in or out. The UN only has room for team players.
