The list seems like it’s getting more and more hefty every year.
Announced on or near April 13 — the anniversary of the birth of Thomas Jefferson — the Jefferson Muzzles are awarded as a means to draw national attention to abridgments of free speech and press and, at the same time, foster an appreciation for those tenets of the First Amendment. Because the importance and value of free expression extend far beyond the First Amendment’s limit on government censorship, acts of private censorship are not spared consideration for the dubious honor of receiving a Muzzle.
The winners include:
- Judge Miriam Goldman Cedarbaum
- The U.S. Department of Defense
- The United States Secret Service
- CBS Television
Plus various other goverment controlled organizations where intolerance is running rampant. I guess that there is price to pay for keeping freedom of speech. After all there is a price for almost everything in life. But some things are worth bleeding and dying for. For what else do we have to protect? Human lives? What is a human life worth if we lose our freedom in the process. I hope everyone will wake up from this nightmare and come to their senses. You cannot serve two masters.
