Mordechai Vanunu

BBC: Defiant Vanunu celebrates freedom

He said he was proud of what he had done and had suffered “great cruelty”. Speaking briefly in Hebrew, he accused Israel of being a dictatorship and an apartheid country.

He went on to say he had been treated harshly because of his conversion to Christianity. Correspondents say Mr Vanunu’s words seem sure to incense many Israelis who already view him as a traitor and a spy.

Furthermore …

Mr Vanunu is not allowed to have a passport, is forbidden to approach ports and airports, and has been told not to talk to foreigners without permission.

As one reader commented about the story, “It’s a citizen’s duty to reveal the wrong doings of his country”. Well, justice isn’t for all it seems. And so called Weapons of Mass Destruction are quite ok as long as you get permission from the good old US.
