Release Notes:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Halo Custom Edition, a special (and unsupported) version of Halo: Combat Evolved. Comes with new multiplayer features and improvements, and support for custom content.
Even though this release is freely downloadable, you must have a valid cdkey and original cd, we removed this protection for your enjoyment.
At the moment I’m not clear on how online play works. If the crack means you’re set up for good or if you will only be able to connect to cracked servers. Hopefully this thing will work like Unreal2:XMP (which didn’t have an online key check).
I really like this trend of supplying free content like this. They could have just as well sold the add-on as an expansion pack. I think this is by far the best approach. This Custom Edition is scarce on new maps and stuff that would warrant a price tag. Bottom line, developing entire expansion packs takes time and money. Letting the user base create their own content seems more logical.
    Yeah. I noticed. Took me a while just to scavenge a key to install the damn thing. And then when I launch the server browser I am .facing the same old story.
    That was when I dropped it. Maybe there are cracked servers, but never in enough quantity. People are just too damn honest. ZZzzzz.
