Methinks I’ll be running out of cliche titles soon so lets enjoy it while supply lasts. Anyway. Via FARK

SMH: Video game skills may give edge in life

Researchers are finding players can make sharper soldiers, drivers and surgeons. Their reaction time is better, their peripheral vision more acute. They are taking risks, finding themselves at ease in a demanding environment that requires paying attention on several levels at once.

At least those that aren’t chubby and have a physical endurance on the same level as a turnip. And I expect to see lots of research saying that “doing X to an excessive degree will make you better at X and accidentally at Y”. I also realize that “reaction time” or “peripheral vision” might not be the thing people look for in a CV or print in a job advert.

BBC: Patch ‘boosts women’s sex drive’

The patch is worn on the stomach for two weeks at a time and delivers the hormone testosterone, which has been linked to female sexual desire.

A trial involving 562 women who had had hysterectomies found the patch led to a 74% increase in satisfying sex.

As well as boosting the amount of satisfying sex they had, it also increased their desire for sex.

Women who wore the patch were aroused more easily and found it easier to have an orgasm compared to those who used a dummy patch.

Comments superfluous. More psychoactive drugs for the people.
