It seems like the movie has finally appeared on DVD. And now as a DVD-RIP also. Sources say the movie stinks, but it is at least a sci-fi theme. And it is keeping the franchise alive. Barely. One could say it’s an iron lung. But still.

Fans of Starship Troopers obviously still hold their breath for a better adaptation to Heinlein’s book. Hopefully, this will in some small way help realize that dream. Can’t be much worse than watching Van Helsing, I say.

<Edit> After having actually seen the movie I have to say I’m pretty impressed with it. Could have been so much worse at least. Good The Thing-like horror flick with very few embarrassments. I.e. no Denise Richards. A virtually unknown cast and rookie director makes a strong sci-fi that stands on its own and doesn’t need to be compared to the first movie. </edit>
