LifestreamOccasionally I collaborate with people to help them create spiffy websites of all sorts. Usually nothing big, always non-profit and mostly for friends. Well, anyway, I’m gonna try to take this more seriously over the next term and approach the field in a broader and more encompassing sense. Put simply, I’m not always satisfied with the results, primarily because I have at times given up some of the artistic freedom to the “client” in question, creating a very difficult and unproductive situation.
Anyway, the current lineup with a brief status report is as follows:

“Stones”
[www.kalmarnation.se/stones] An attempt to create a visually sparse and consistent experience. A little old and a little new. With a manchester brown appearance. Server is without database so guestbook and image archive are really pushing the limits. As always, in retrospect, everything could have been made a lot better. Site will stay online for the duration of the summer and then be scrapped forever. |
New projects for this year include:

“Privatläkare”
[www.privatlakare.com] Design is kept at an absolute minimum. The idea is to create a yellow pages database of private physicians using PHP and MYSQL. Much of the actual work is of yet not really obvious as it is behind the scenes so to speak. A collaborative effort together with Olof Petersson who maintains the SQL programming and comes up with pesky suggestions. Ok serious. Site is online with limited functionality. Design is finalized but at the same time not really finished. The database in not yet populated with the available data. Project is difficult since the target audience is average people and at the same time medical professionals. |

“Pang Musik”
[www.pangmusik.se] Version 2 of the live music scene Stones in Uppsala. The name took a while to decide but here it is, finally. Bigger, bolder, better. In cooperation with the local urban guru and indie connoisseur Per Gårdehall. Site will go online in early September. |
