Battleangel

Picked up some sort of feature preview off of Suprnova. The premiere is drawing closer. A little over two weeks to go before the show will see the light of day.

The entire plot and setup seems ironed out now. Most of season one seems to be scripted and at least halfway being shot. One of the things that bug me a little is the choice to replace Jessica Steen with “some other actress”. Yet in the preview they go on and on about how they write a character to suit the actor. Apparently not. Haven’t seen a good explanation to this switcheroo anywhere though so one shouldn’t speculate. At any rate, having both series air simultaneously is a dream come true for sci-fi fans. And I have a feeling that Atlantis wont disappoint, even if it will have a hard time competing with the success of SG-1.

As far as SG-1 is concerned, the 8th season will revolve around wrapping up some loose threads from previous seasons. Threads such as the replicators, the ascension deal, Maybourne, Ishta … and possibly the Aschen as well as Nicholas Ballard. A good way to end the series probably. No one wants loose ends after all.

Stargate SG-1’s new season premieres on July 9 followed by the Stargate Atlantis on July 16. Stay tuned.
