Another day, another blockbuster opening. Kind of liked the movie even if it might not be so great for the action crowd. Overall a very good sequel. The villain is better and more important in the actual Spider-Man universe. The gags were often slapstick and quite funny as opposed to the tired old verbal cliches that we we largely spared.
A stylish production that looked very good from all angles. Very artistic, maybe at the expense of the action, but so what …
Kind of dull that Mary-Jane has to be kidnapped in every movie though. And just so that the Goblin arc could be continued. A tad strange to have Otto Octavius change character. Not bad as a story line, just out of line with the comics. As was the serious lack of german accent.
The biggest gripe with the movie, as can be predicted, is that the romantic fiddling takes precedence even over the “great power - great responsibility” foundation. Why? Because romance sells of course. That ticks me off. It’s cute and fluffy but it distracts from the story. Dare to say no to gratuitous wedding scenes.
How will the series progress? Another Osborne as Green Goblin? I hope not. Connors as the Lizard. Possibly.
