Still haven’t installed SP2, though it has been on disk since over three weeks ago when the final leaked. Haven’t reviewed the list of changes and fixes but for one that doesn’t use IE anymore and doesn’t want the Firewall it is hard to come up with a reason to rush in. Especially if you’ve been conscientious in applying pre-SP2 post-SP1 patches from Windows Update. Most likely I’ll slipstream or get a pre-slipstreamed version for next time I do a fresh install.
And about Windows Update, I noticed that I too am now forced to use the dreaded v5 of the software. The good news is that even with my “legally challenged” setup, I ran into no problems whatsoever. As pointed out earlier, the security system is a little daft and thank God for that. Pirates rejoice.
