Hmm. Still a couple of things to do before the winter sets in. I can feel the air shivering and ice cold winds approaching. It makes me a little sad every year to see all that has flourished during the brief growing season fade away. The very smell of decomposing plant matter bears a sad tune in a symphony of death and rebirth.
Remains to be done:
- Dig a new garden bed.
- Freshen up beds, ridging to keep the grass at bay.
- Mulch as many of the garden beds as possible.
- Obviously clean up all the dead plant matter.
- Set a ring / polygon of stone around each fruit tree.
- Preserve Pelargoniums, Fuchsias and my new Buxus specimens.
For next year:
- More mulch.
- Pond (I say that every year).
- Limestone table / garden workbench.
- Illumination (230V).
- Asian style garden elements. Gravel and stylization.
- Mesozoic corner. Jurassic park without the dinosaurs.
And another thing. If you happen to live next door and object to me mowing the lawn in the evenings, keep it to yourself. Actually had one neighbour come up to the fence just this evening. Supposedly to complain about something. Needless to say I couldn’t be bothered to kill the engine and remove the ear plugs so I kept mowing. At least a while until I had arrived in an unilluminated part of the garden and could not proceed. But the point is, you don’t know what kind of mood I’m in and with the cover of darkness and a lawn mower, you could really get hurt without anyone ever noticing. So please, mind your own business. Asshat. Thank you.
