The Quart Size Water Bottle

Found an online retailer that had quart size water bottles at a decent price. Black of course. Jula used to carry them as well but they were discontinued last year just before I had time to buy any.
Silly and vain as I am I also had to try out Mil-Tec’s quick and cheap Tactical Vest. Lets see how many pouches of lead one can load into that vest before it breaks. Could very well be the load bearer and exercise tool I’ve been looking for. Perhaps it’ll save me the trouble of buying an expensive backpack (just for the purpose of loading it up with water or sand for walking).

I also had my eyes on a nice 21” telescopic truncheon but I felt that at present it would just not be utilized. Marvellous weapon though, so much cleaner than a knife and so much better reach and thus safer for the user. I noticed that many police forces have dropped their old nightstick for the telescopic kind and that both the scientific and public concerns have been that this model does more bodily harm. Couldn’t agree more. The telescopic truncheon is certainly more dangerous. And it is a concern to me that there are people running around out there (such as the police) with weapons that are difficult or close to impossible to block using only your body. I mean, a police officer can’t just pull his gun on you without a REAL good reason, but he can hit you with spray or a truncheon with little or no provocation and expect no reprimands.

The verdict? On the practical side, and despite extensive checking I failed to realize that you can’t have a 1L bottle hanging from the type of belt I use. This thin synthetic stuff just keeps slipping. I had to dig out my old leather belt again. In time I’ll try to find the same heavy duty synthetic belt used by some police and special forces.
The vest, however, was a complete success. Not that I’ll be wearing it daily. Obviously it doesn’t compare to a Blackhawk or Strike but it all depends on what you want the vest for also. This vest is of a more open design. Not so much a vest as a load bearer. And the pockets are poorly adapted for military use but splendidly so for general applications. For example there are no pouches specifically for ammunition. I’m still thinking of how to best use the vest. Perhaps for field photography? Or for exercise, loaded with sandbags and weight discs? Or merely a fashion statement?

Can you buy firearms in Sweden?

    Here’s some good ones http://www.colt.com/CMCI/pi...

They’re much more effective than sticks. With a stick you have to close. With a gun you can back away.

Yeah, I realize that too ;)
    But what sport is that?

No, one cannot buy or bear arms in any way resembling most US states. In order to (legally) own such a weapon one has to be member of some sort of gun club and practise shooting there. Or apply for a special gun collector’s permit. But as to what kind of weapons that lets you own I am unsure. Lots of red tape.

But to carry such a weapon in public is still not possible (again, legally). And actually shooting anyone, no matter how good the intention, such as a burglar, will never hold up in court.
Sweden is a bit like Canada I guess. There are lots of guns in circulation, probably more than the US devided per capita, but mostly for game hunting. Assault weapons, revolvers and pistols are scarce.
