After having played most of the single player campaign and seen most aspects of the game’s visual side I am very pleased with Tribes Vengeance. Finally opting for a gfx engine that actually works helps a lot. But it still feels like the game falls short somehow. Many maps are truly unfulfilling and the lack of botmatches hurts the overall verdict (at least I haven’t found any bots yet). Both are however things that can be remedied in time and with user add-ons. Sadly my bandwidth this week has been limited (too many torrents) so I haven’t had a chance to try multiplayer yet. I much prefer botmatches myself. But I hear it’s reasonably fun. In short, one of the best games of the year. Surely more fun than Doom 3 and Half-Life 2 is hard pressed to do better.
